Massage & Gua Sha Therapy
Rather than simply treating the symptom, we look for the root of the problem to help alleviate your pain and discomfort, using a combination of massage therapy, Gua Sha, and tried and tested mobility & flexibility improving techniques.
What is Gua Sha?
Gua means 'scraping' and Sha means 'redness'. Gua Sha is an effective instrument assisted massage therapy and a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine upon which the Graston Technique is based. It loosens muscles, treats pain, helps with systemic problems and even facial rejuvenation. Gua Sha works by releasing scar tissue and adhesions which can cause dysfunctional tissues and pain and limited range of motion.
Some redness and speckling is normal when treating with Gua Sha, and shows up areas of dysfunctional tissue, initiating the healing process. The photos below show the Sha which you can expect to see when an area dysfunctional of tissue is treated. This tends to fade within a couple of days, but the positive effects of a Gua Sha treatment are usually felt immediately.
So if you're suffering from back, neck or shoulder pain, trouble sleeping or winding down at the end of the day, and want an effective holistic way to support your body then contact us to book your appointment and let’s see if we can help.
30 minutes - £30.00 or £130 for a block of 5
60 minutes - £45.00 or £200 for a block of 5
